COLUMBIA, Mo. - North Callaway High will host its fourth annual Barnes and Noble Bookfair on Saturday at the Barnes and Noble store in Columbia.

Proceeds will benefit the high school library, but the event is a public celebration of the entire district, school officials said.

"This should be a great day to kick off holiday shopping and celebrate the North Callaway district," District Librarian Justin Hamm said. "In years past, students and families from all our schools have attended. We hope to have another great turnout this year and to bring many new books into our library."

This year, events will take place between noon and 4 p.m. Planned events include a performance by the NCHS choir, high school athletes reading to children, an appearance by the Thunderbird mascot, craft tables, gift wrapping and student artwork on display.

The book fair ID number is 12250064. In order for purchases to go toward the fundraiser total, the number must be presented at the register on the day of the book fair.

Online supporters can enter the ID number at the end of any purchase made at barnesandnoble.com Nov. 25-30. A portion of those sales will also benefit the NCHS library.
