Input sought on transportation funding

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - State Rep. Jeff Messenger is asking Missourians to complete a short online survey will allow them to provide valuable input on the future of Missouri's transportation system.

Missourians interested in participating in the discussion should complete the online survey to share their opinion of each of the eight options. The survey also provides the opportunity for input regarding MoDOT.

Questions range in tops from state gas tax rates, currently 17 cents per gallon sold, a new sales tax on motor fuel and increases on increased motor vehicle sales taxes and user fees. The current state sales tax on new and used vehicles is 4.225 percent, according to the survey. Imposition of tolls on interstates and major roads is also addressed.

The survey takes about five minutes to complete.
