During the Fulton Street Fair Parade at 5 p.m. June 17, local store Re-Made for a Purpose will be leading the way.

"When I first learned about Re-Made for a Purpose, I knew that they were an important asset to the community," Street Fair Parade Coordinator Miranda Coleman said. "Our parade theme this year is 'Find Your Adventure.'

"That means a lot of different things, but after seeing Re-Made grow every week, we as a committee decided that they would be very deserving of the honor."

Re-Made for a Purpose sells boutique-quality used clothing and gift items made by it's employees, adults with disabilities. Thanks to the support of the community, the store recently expanded into a space next door.

Coleman said by naming Re-Made for a Purpose grand marshal, the Fulton community is acknowledging the work the store has done.

"They are being honored as a whole; the store and the people who work there," she said. "We want to thank them for everything they have done, say 'congratulations' to them and a big 'thank you.'"

Re-Made for a Purpose co-founder Barbara Reid said she is thankful to be selected.

"We are very excited," she said. "It is an honor to be selected."
