A Fulton man was arrested during an apparent attempted burglary Tuesday, according to police Sgt. D.B. McGrath.
Officers of the Fulton Police Department were called to a break-in in progress at 8:37 p.m. in the 900 block of East Morningside Drive. On the scene, they found Ronald G. Hook, 49, and took him into custody.
During processing, Hook assaulted an officer, McGrath stated via press release. The officer was uninjured.
Hook was held without bond at the Callaway County Jail. The charges he faces include first-degree burglary, fourth-degree domestic assault, second-degree property damage, violation of an ex-parte order and assault on law enforcement.
The investigation continues and may result in further charges, McGrath stated.
This is the second time in less than a week that Hook has landed in police custody. On March 23, he was arrested after a traffic violation led to a short police chase.
Officers found methamphetamine in his vehicle. At the time, he was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was placed in the Callaway County jail on a $4,939 bond.
