A Fulton man was arrested Thursday after a short car chase, according to Sgt. Billy Kamp of the Fulton Police Department.

At 8 a.m., Fulton Police officers attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation near Schultze and Ravine Street, Kamp stated via press release. The vehicle failed to stop and officers gave chase.

After the driver eventually stopped, police identified him as Ronald "Gleen" Hook, 49. Kamp said officers searched the vehicle and found a crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.

"It field-tested positive, but it will be taken to the Missouri Highway Patrol crime lab to be confirmed," Kamp said.

Hook was taken into custody for felony possession of a controlled substance and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was brought to the Callaway County Jail on a $4,939 bond. Kamp said more charges could be pending as the investigation is ongoing.
