U-Save Car & Truck Rental is opening a Fulton branch March 29 at Paul's Auto Body, 650 Gaylord Drive.
Paul's Auto Body was started in 1991 and U-Save Manager Donna Musgrove said it has been growing as a family business ever since.
"Paul started the business," she said. "Both his sons work in the shop, including my husband Mike. (Our) son also works in the shop over breaks."
Donna Musgrove claimed the decision to add a rental car businesscame out of the lack of options in Fulton.
"Customers need a car," she said. "Before now, Enterprise or Hurtz would have to come from Jefferson City or Columbia. There was nothing available in the area."
Musgrove said the service has already had a soft opening and it has already starting to pick up customers.
"Right now, we have nine cars and one mini-van available to rent," she said. "We also plans in the near future to get a 15 passenger van."
Musgrove said that rates on rentals per day are set, but that weekly rentals can be negotiated. She added that the new business didn't require many changes to Paul's Auto Body.
"It's the same office, using the same counter," she said. "The cars are a little bit north of the body shop parking lot."
