Two arrested on drug-related charges

Two women were arrested Sunday near Fulton, according to Lt. Curtis Hall of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Jessica Harris, 30, of Mokane, and Amber Hill, 27, of Sedalia, were arrested on drug-related charges.

Deputies were called to Tara Lake Drive off State Road HH at about 11:30 a.m. to investigate a suspicious vehicle and two women walking on private property, Hall said. Hill and Harris were found in the vehicle.

Officers searched Harris and found suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Hall said, adding Hill was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hall said Hill was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia (prior drug offender) and was released at the Callaway County Jail pending a court date.

Harris was arrested on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, possesssion of 11-35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia (prior offender). She posted a bond of $5,000 at the Callaway County Jail, Hall said.

Hall added the investigation is ongoing and may result in further charges.
