Highway Patrol to host Community Alliance Program

The Missouri Highway Patrol will conduct a Community Alliance Program beginning Sept. 14 and concluding with an awards banquet Oct. 19. The program is designed to allow the public to learn more about the patrol's purpose and role within the law enforcement community.

The classes will meet from 6-9 p.m. on six consecutive Thursday evenings at the Troop F Headquarters, 2920 North Shamrock Road in Jefferson City.

The curriculum will familiarize participants with patrol policies and procedures. Sessions will cover traffic stops, firearms familiarization, marine operations and other aspects of the patrol. Some evenings will include activities and role-playing exercises that provide participants practical experience.

Applications to participate in the program are being taken through Sept. 1. There is no cost to participate. Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis following an evaluation of an application form and a criminal record check.

Application forms are available at the Troop F Headquarters or by calling Sgt. Scott White at 573-751-1000 ext. 3619.
