Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports

A one-vehicle crash on a wet Callaway County highway was reported at 3:55 a.m. Friday by state troopers.

A police report said a 2016 Ford F-450 driven by Marissa L. Capps, 26, of Pittsfield, Illinois, drove off the right side of westbound Interstate 70 near the 143-mile marker. Troopers said the truck overturned.

An occupant, Alexander A. Taleff, 80, of Hunnewell, received serious injuries and he was taken to University Hospital in Columbia. The truck received moderate damage.

The highway was wet at the time, troopers reported. Taleff was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

A Fulton woman had minor injuries after an accident reported at 9:45 a.m. Friday on I-70 westbound near the 137-mile marker. Nikki J. Fox, 28, was merging onto the road in a 2014 Ford Focus and failed to yield to a 2017 Freightliner driven by Kristopher N. Rothermich, of O'Fallon. The Freightliner traveled off the right side of the road into the cable barrier, where it was then struck by a 2012 Toyota Highlander driven by Rachelle L. Bauer, 59, of Wentzville. Troopers said Fox was taken by ambulance to the University of Missouri Hospital. All the drivers were wearing seat belts.

A Fulton woman received minor injuries in an accident reported at 8:40 p.m. July 13 on Route J, 500 feet south of Chevy Chase Lane. A 2009 Honda Civic driven by Amber E. Hamilton, 20, was southbound when she swerved to miss an animal in the road. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, over corrected and then travelled off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and overturning. Hamilton, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries and was taken to Fulton Medical Center, troopers reported.

A Wardsville woman was injured in an accident reported at 10:35 am. July 13 on Route O, just east of County Road 477. A 2009 Honda Accord driven by Morgan E. Thomas, 19, traveled off the road and overturned, ejecting her. The Honda was destroyed. Troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt, and she was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

A St. Louis man was seriously injured in an accident reported at 10:35 a.m. July 12 on Interstate 70 eastbound near the 149-mile marker. Troopers said a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by Lamar M. McGill, 37, of Jefferson City, was approached by a car in his lane and veered off the road, striking median cables. An occupant, Robert L. Jones, 42, of St. Louis, was seriously injured and taken to University Hospital in Columbia. McGill was unharmed; both were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

A Peoria, Illinois, man received serious injuries in an accident reported at 9:33 p.m. Sunday on westbound U.S. 54 just north of County Road 240. A 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Melvin G. Gudeman, 50, suffered rear tire failure, causing it to overturn. He was transported to University Hospital.

A Kingdom City pedestrian received minor injuries in an accident reported at 5:47 p.m. in a parking lot near 3 U.S. 54, a parking lot. A 1996 Chevrolet 2500 driven by Chad W. Dyke, 57, of Moberly, was towing something when the rear of the towed unit struck the rear of a parked 2009 Mazda 5 (owner unknown). The Mazda partially rotated, striking pedestrian Jane C. Ramirez, 34, of Kingdom City, who was standing nearby. She was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.
