Updated: Duplex fire kills Fulton man

Fulton firefighters responded to a duplex fire in the 900 block of Nichols Street Friday evening in which a man died. Fulton Fire Chief Kevin Coffelt said they got him out of the house but he died. "We got the call at 4:13 and arrived at 4:16," he said, adding flames were pouring out of the windows when fire trucks pulled in. More information will be furnished later, Coffelt said.

A 67-year-old man died in a fire Friday evening at a duplex in Fulton.

Fulton firefighters responded to the duplex fire in the 900 block of Nichols Street at 4:16 p.m., three minutes after receiving the call.

Fulton Fire Chief Kevin Coffelt said they were able to get the man out of the house Friday, but he died. Officials on Saturday identified the victim as Stephen Rives.

Coffelt said flames were pouring out of the windows when fire trucks pulled in.
