Eugene man embezzles nearly $30,000

A Eugene man has been placed on two years of unsupervised probation after pleading guilty to an amended charge for stealing from his employer.

Roland Morrow, 54, was found to have embezzled while working as an office manager/accountant at Scheppers International Truck Center.

He had been charged with felony stealing, but pleaded to the reduced charge of misdemeanor stealing.

Jefferson City police said documentation confirmed Morrow electronically transferred money from Scheppers customer accounts to his personal Scheppers charge account totaling more than $29,500.

This activity occurred from May 2009 through June 2013.

Morrow admitted to transferring the funds, which he knew was stealing, but had difficulty believing the transactions totaled more than $29,500.
