Flora Clayton said she's grown the biggest tomato of her life this year.
At 98, she's had a lot of years for comparison.
"I never had one that big before," Clayton said, sitting on her shady patio Tuesday morning. "All of my life, I've been a farmer."
Her family farm is just south of Fulton off Tennyson Road. She's been growing tomatoes since she was a child.
She said she's not sure of the variety, or what made this one extra special.
"My niece bought the plant from an Amish family; she brought me four plants," Clayton said. "They're very unusual."
Other than that, Clayton said the tomatoes got no special attention from her.
