Firefighters tackle building and brush fire at Eugene

Cole County firefighters were called this morning to Market Road in Eugene to fight a structure fire and adjacent brush fire.

They responded during the 9 o'clock hour to a wooded property on the north edge of town where a building and surrounding acreage containing numerous junk items were burning.

Firefighters were having difficulty gaining access to the blaze from the road. They were using a brush truck and dragging fire hoses through the woods in order to douse the blaze.
