The delivery drivers for Fulton flower shop Unique Designs were up early Tuesday morning, preparing to drop off flowers for Valentine's Day to unsuspecting people around Callaway County. With vases full of roses and many heart-shaped balloons, drivers loaded up and were sent in different directions.
Driver Bryant Liddle was sent north. Liddle said the number of deliveries he makes on Valentine's Day depends on what day of the week it falls.
"This is a typical haul this year," he said. "The day of the week Valentine's Day is on changes what day you make the deliveries."
Liddle said what he had in his van was just the beginning of his day.
"We will probably still be getting orders through most of the day," he said.
With a van filled to the brim with fragrant blooms, Liddle began to bring a little color to some lucky Fulton women's lives.
Debbie Taylor received two vases full of pink roses.
"Oh my gosh," Taylor said. "That's awesome."
Tina Barnes was also excited to receive her flowers.
"This is awesome," Barnes said. "This is so cool."
Liddle continued to spread joy around the city throughout the morning. Everyone who received flowers was a little stunned and very appreciative.
Connie Jones began to tear up when she received her flowers. "They are so pretty," Jones said. "They are so beautiful."
Janice Miller said her flowers came with a little extra meaning.
"My husband and I were engaged 38 years ago on Valentine's Day," she said. "He is quite the husband."
