Fulton Family Health changes name

To the Fulton Sun

On Dec. 7, Fulton Family Health Associates officially joined University of Missouri Health Care.

With the move comes a name change. Fulton Family Health Associates will change its name to Family Medicine – Fulton Family Health.

In August, Fulton Family Health Associates announced its intention to join MU Health Care. The group practice is comprised of three board-certified family medicine physicians, one board-certified physician assistant, and 13 other health professional and support staff.

MU Health Care’s Family Medicine – Callaway Physicians has been providing primary care to the citizens of Callaway County for more than 40 years. Fulton Family Health Associates has provided primary care in central Missouri for 21 years. Both clinics will continue to serve patients in their present locations.

MU Health Care will employ the staff of Fulton Family Health Associates, and the three physicians and one physician assistant will be employed by the MU School of Medicine.

“Fulton Family Health Associates and MU Health Care share a common goal of advancing patient care, medical education and medical research,” said Dr. Robert Pierce, founder of Fulton Family Health Associates. “Our affiliation allows us to integrate health care resources to better serve our patients, while preserving the historic strengths of Fulton’s community physicians.”

Under the new arrangement, patients can choose the health provider or hospital where they would like to receive inpatient and outpatient care. They also have more health options because their provider now has privileges at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, University Hospital, MU Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and other MU Health Care inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Family Medicine – Fulton Family Health is at 2613 Fairway Drive. Family Medicine – Callaway Physicians is at 110 N. Hospital Drive .
