No injuries suffered in residential fire

No one was injured during a residential fire Saturday, said Fire Chief Kevin Coffelt of the Fulton Fire Department.

The Fulton Fire Department was dispatched to a fire 10:56 p.m. in the 1400 block of Kenwood Drive in Fulton after neighbors reported smoke coming from the structure.

Fire crews entered the single-story building and were met with heavy smoke and intense heat, Coffelt said. After searching the building, crews did not locate any residents and concluded the structure was vacant. Within 30 minutes, the fire - located in the building's basement - was under control. Five engines, one ladder truck and 20 personnel responded, along with one medic unit.

Damages to the structure were estimated at $75,000, Coffelt said.

Coffelt said the fire's cause is still under investigation by the fire department, Fulton Police Department and fire marshal's office.

"The fire is not considered suspicious at this time," Coffelt added.
