Commuters to locations in western Callaway County will be happy to learn bridge work on Route H is completed and the road linking U.S. 54 to Route J opened Friday. The road closed in June to replace a single-laned bridge over Davis Creek.

The new bridge handles both lanes of traffic and includes rip-rock stream bank stablization and guard rails.

This week's MoDOT projects include:

  • U.S. 54 over the Middle River, east of Route BB — Bridge rehabilitation in the westbound lanes is underway. One lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.
  • U.S. 63 over the Katy Trail, north of Jefferson City — The Katy Trail Bridge is open to traffic. Motorists may encounter occasional lane closures in the next few weeks as the contractor finishes the bridge deck work. The project is scheduled for completion this fall.
  • Route O over Crows Fork Creek, east of County Road 419 — Bridge deck replacement is underway. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to use Route C, Missouri 94 and Route CC to detour around the work. The project is scheduled for completion in September.
  • Route EE between Route B and County Road 1002 — Roadway maintenance will take place Monday,-Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • U.S. 54 over Richland Creek, east of County Road 209 — Bridge maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday-Thursday. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.
  • U.S. 54 between Missouri 94 and Route F — Striping operations will take place the week of Aug. 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • Missouri 94 between County Road 4011 East and County Road 4011 — Roadside maintenance will take place Monday Aug. 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
  • Route PP between Missouri 94 and Route BB — Roadway maintenance will take place Aug. 22-24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
