STEEDMAN - A Steedman man was arrested Wednesday, on suspicion of molesting a child younger than 12 years old.
According to Lt. Curtis Hall of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, Arthur A. Franklin, 70, was charged with one felony count of second-degree child molestation - child less than 12 years old. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by sheriff's office initiated on March 26.
On Wednesday, deputies located Franklin in the 8400 block of Route CC near Steedman where he was taken into custody. Franklin was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he remains in custody on a bond of $30,000.
The State of Missouri Children's Division assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.
