Police seek DNA confirmation in DeBrodie case

Fulton police chief Steve Myers met with Carl DeBrodie's mother Carolyn Summers on Wednesday to request a DNA sample.

"We had to get a DNA sample from her, so we could attempt to make positive ID on the body," Myers said.

The medical examiner is working to confirm the body found in Fulton on Monday is the body of missing man Carl DeBrodie, Myers said.

"The cause of death could take a while," Myers said. "I don't know how long, maybe a few weeks."

The body was in an advanced state of decay, Myers confirmed. It was found in a a storage unit, wrapped in plastic and encased in concrete, according to Sgt. Bill Ladwig.
