Callaway County deputies arrested three people overnight Saturday into Sunday during a saturation patrol in south Callaway County, according to Sheriff Clay Chism.

Arrested were Jevon Hawkins, 27, of Columbia; Demetrius Robinson, 20, of Florissant; and Darius Davis, 23, of Jefferson City.

The overnight patrol in the Tebbetts, Holts Summit and Jefferson City area and was a direct response to information received of a social gathering to occur on Highway 94, just outside of the Jefferson City limits. This property has been the source of several disturbances involving weapons (including two shootings) and known criminal activity during the past several months, Chism said.

During the course of the saturation patrol, several traffic stops were conducted as the result of deputies observing traffic violations. As a result of those stops, the  felony or fugitive arrests were made.

Hawkins was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm (felon in possession). Hawkins was convicted of a felony offense in Boone County and is currently on five years supervised probation through the state Board of Probation and Parole, according to Chism. Hawkins was in possession of a firearm, on his person, at the time of traffic stop and arrested. He was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he later posted a $4,500 bond and was released pending court appearance.

Robinson was arrested on a Cole County felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. Robinson was charged with said offense in Cole County on April 13 as the result of a Lincoln University Police investigation, Chism said. He was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he later posed a $5,000 bond and was released.

Davis was arrested on a Cole County warrant for making a false report and several traffic violations. The original offenses were investigated by the Jefferson City Police Department, Chism said. Davis was arrested by Callaway deputies and transferred to the custody of Cole County authorities for transport direct to the Cole County Jail.

Several other traffic stops were conducted resulting in warnings and summons for traffic violations and arrests for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

According to Chism, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office remains committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and visitors and will conduct further saturation patrols in the future, as applicable. The Jefferson City Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with patrolling the area during the saturation.
