Clothing chain Rue 21 will close nearly 400 stores across the country, including their store at the Osage Premium Outlets in Osage Beach.
The Jefferson City store at Capital Mall and the company's store at The Shoppes at Stadium in Columbia were not on the list.
In all, eight Rue 21 locations in Missouri are going to close as the retailer struggles to pay bills, according to the financial website Debitwire. The company has 36 stores in Missouri.
There was no word on how soon the closings will take place. On its Facebook page, Rue 21 said there would still be "hundreds of other locations across the country remaining open" along with its website, rue21.com.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2002.
Correction: The version of this article that appears in Tuesday's newspaper incorrectly identifies the central Missouri stores on the closing list. The Osage Beach store is the only one slated to close locally. The version above correctly reflects that.
