Special Olympics Missouri seeks volunteers

Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) is seeking volunteers to help with the State Outdoor Games, which will bring more than 950 athletes and 200 coaches from around the state to Jefferson City from Oct. 14-16.

This state-level event takes place at Binder Park, Blair Oaks High School, Helias High School, Oak Hills Golf Center, Turkey Creek Golf Center, Washington Park and Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

Whether they have prior sports knowledge or not, SOMO can put volunteers in the best position to make a difference and have a good time while they're at it.

A full list of volunteer opportunities can be found at www.somo.volunteerhub.com

The dates and locations where volunteers are needed the most include:

Friday, Oct. 14: 9 a.m. to noon, golf at Turkey Creek; 8 a.m. to noon, tennis at Washington Park; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., tennis at Washington Park.
