The Rotaract Club of William Woods University is teaming up with the Rotary Club of Fulton and the Fulton Sun to collect blankets, coats, hats and gloves to distribute to needy families through SERVE Inc. The drive continues until Dec. 9.

"Our Rotaract Club is hosting a coat drive for those who need a nice warm coat with those bitter winters coming up," Hope Wallace, Rotaract community service chair, said. "For me, the coat drive is an awesome opportunity and I am so excited we get the chance to give back. It really gets the campus into the spirit of giving because it is such an easy task!"

Rotaract President Hannah Mansell agreed: "The coat drive means so much to me because Rotaract gets to give back to our local community."

Drop-off locations, in addition to WWU and the Fulton Sun, are Bank Star One, Callaway Bank (main and south), Callaway Chamber of Commerce, Central Bank, Heartland Church and Peak Sport and Spine (formerly Atlas Physical Therapy).

"Winter coats, hats, gloves and blankets are essential items in Missouri winters," Rotary Club President Mary Ann Beahon said. "I'm proud of the young people in the William Woods Rotaract Club for taking on this project, and I hope the community will be generous in making donations."

The Rotaract Club of William Woods University was founded in March by the Fulton Rotary Club.

The Rotary Club of Fulton was founded in 1923 and meets at noon Wednesdays at Fulton Country Club for lunch and a program. Membership is open to service-oriented residents and workers of the area. Guests are welcome to attend. To learn more about the club, visit facebook.com/FultonMoRotary.
