New city clerk named for Holts Summit

HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. - Amy Burec started out the morning Tuesday as the court clerk for the city of Holts Summit, but things quickly changed.

"I became the interim city clerk as of 9 a.m.," she said.

Burec has replaced former city clerk Gwen Edmonson, whose reasons for leaving could not immediately be discerned. Burec said she previously served 3 years as the city's administrative assistant to the chief of police, and as court clerk. She said she also helped coordinate events.

"We're going through the transition," she said. "There are new challenges ahead of me."

On Monday evening, the city's board of aldermen discussed and approved insurance policies for employees and their families.

"We have great insurance with a great company, and each year we look for the best policy for our employees," Burec said.

On Thursday, the Holts Summit Soup Kitchen and Betterment Association will host a community Thanksgiving feast from 5-6 p.m. The dinner will be at the soup kitchen at Greenway Park.
