Parking along Fulton streets will be the topic of an ordinance being discussed at tonight's Fulton city council meeting.
The new ordinance, if approved, would add and subtract parking around town, including:
State Street: No parking on the east side from Second to Fifth Streets.
Center Street: Extending the no parking zone 25 feet to the north of the entrance between Presbyterian Manor and the Presbyterian Church, and to disallow parking along the side of Center Street 300 feet north from the intersection of St. Louis Avenue.
12th Street: No parking on the south side of 12th Street from the RDC building to the railroad bridge on the campus of William Woods University.
Hickman Avenue: No parking on the east side of Hickman Avenue from West Seventh Street to the water crossing.
510 Market Street: Amended by adding five additional spaces in front of (the Callaway Chamber of Commerce) from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Another ordinance will address removing the requirement for rummage sale permits in Fulton. Also on the agenda is a request to close a section of Westminster Avenue on Aug. 23 for "Rock the Block," an event welcoming students to Westminster College's fall term. The event typically attracts about 600 people during New Student Week. The band, "Local Trash," is expected to play at the event, which will be 5 to 7 p.m.
The city council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at city hall, 18 E. Fourth St.
