HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. - Three more Central Missouri residents were arrested Tuesday near Holts Summit in connection with a drug and stolen property ring, police officers said.

Callaway County Sheriff's deputies and members of the Mustang Drug Task Force also arrested two others on Sunday, according to Sgt. Curtis Hall of the sheriff's office.

"It is safe to say that this was a narcotics/theft ring, where some acted as thieves and others acted as a fence," Hall said. "As I recently told a group in New Bloomfield at their meeting, these type of people will steal your $500 TV and sell it for $50 in drugs."

Arrested on Tuesday were Jacquelyn S. Darst, 29, of California, for felony receiving stolen property; Lloyde E. Thomasson, 36, of Holts Summit, for felony receiving stolen property; and Robert "Justin" Vaught, 26, of Holts Summit. Vaught was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and unrelated charges of second-degree domestic assault, felonious restraint, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon stemming from a separate, past investigation.

According to Hall, a Callaway County search warrant for stolen property and narcotics was executed in the 12000 block of County Road 4031 near Holts Summit. The search warrant was issued as the result of ongoing investigations, he said.

Later that evening, deputies went to another address in the 12000 block of County Road 4031 and recovered a stolen vehicle and narcotics.

An extensive amount of stolen property was recovered, including power tools, chainsaws, a gas MIG welder and a weed trimmer. Several items were identified as belonging to Callaway County residents, taken during recent burglary and stealing offenses.

The three subjects were taken to the Callaway County Jail. Thomasson and Darst posted bond on Tuesday and were released from the jail pending court appearance. Vaught remains in custody with no bond.

According to Case.net, Vaught has previous convictions for second-degree domestic assault and possession of a controlled substance. At the time of Vaught's arrest, he was under the supervision of the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole.

On Sunday, two Holts Summit men, Cole T. Robinett, 25, and Joshua R. Temmen, 24, were arrested and stolen property recovered on County roads 4012 and 4031. The investigation is ongoing.
