The incident took place in the 4200 block of Dean Place near Millersburg. The search warrant was issued as a result of a joint narcotics investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and MUSTANG.

During the search warrant execution, several items of narcotics were located, including methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A Honda Rancher ATV, previously reported stolen to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, also was recovered at the scene.

"The drug trade and thefts go hand-in-hand," Lt. Clay Chism said.

Later in the afternoon, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office and MUSTANG executed another search warrant at a storage facility in Auxvasse where several additional stolen items were recovered.

Two people were arrested as a result of the investigation and taken to the Callaway County Jail.

Daniel B. Smith, 38, of Harrisburg, was arrested on a no-bond Department of Corrections parole warrant for previous charges of distribution of a controlled substance near public housing/school, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine precursor, two counts of resisting arrest by flight and driving while revoked.

William "Billy" Hathman, 28, of Ashland, was arrested on a $5,000 cash-only Boone County probation violation warrant for a previous charge of assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
