NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -Rooster Creek Company hosted its first quilt show Thursday through Saturday at the Heart of Nashville Event Center.

Five-year-old Arya Green, of Maryville, was drawn to the pink Minnie Mouse and fairy-themed quilts.

"Can I have them both?" Arya asked her grandmother, Barbara Green.

The two quilts were for display only, but Arya still had a good time. She moved on to a quilt with an imprint of a girl and mixed and matched the Velcro dresses attached to the quilt.

The Patchwork Dog in Fulton was a featured vendor at the show. Owner Kadi Easley said her business promotes the "strip 'n turn" template. The template allows users to strip a piece of fabric and then turn the device, creating any type of design the user pleases.

"It's very beginner friendly," Easley said about the template, adding the user will be able to express something neat in the quilt's design.

Vi Dale, of Stover Quality Quilting in Stover, said her company makes quilts for customers.

"It's a one-on-one adventure," she said. "We're always willing to help somebody."

Mike and Teresa Cuno, owners of Rooster Creek Company, launched the event as a way for any quilters to have the opportunity to show their skills.

"There's just too much fun to list it all," Teresa Cuno said about the event.
