After a two-year absence, America's Best Value Inn in Holts Summit is bringing back its Christmas train layout for the 14th year.
The layout will be open 1-7 p.m. Saturday through Dec. 23 and Dec. 26-28. Showings will be on the half hour with the last at 7 p.m. It takes about 20 minutes to view the display.
The Christmas layout includes a two-layer, 8-by-12-foot area featuring the Polar Express train, Christmas train, Christmas trolley, more than 65 hand-painted Christmas village buildings, more than 100 hand-painted figurines laid out in Santa's Village, Santa's North Pole Animal Rescue, The Elf Village and the Christmas village with several animated items.
The main 11-by-24-foot triple layer layout features a Thomas the Tank Engine area, circus area, canyon with a real waterfall, amusement park, Lionelville City and the back-shop area. This layout has more than 40
animated items.
