House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., walks to a Republican strategy session Tuesday at the Capitol in Washington. A revolt by some conservatives forced House GOP leaders to delay a vote on Wednesday on a temporary spending bill required to prevent a government shutdown next month.
In addition to tea service, the event featured children's activities, a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday music and an auction.
