A Holts Summit man was charged late Friday after a sheriff's office investigation, according to Lt. Clay Chism of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

James P. Harrison, 33, was charged with armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree burglary and second-degree domestic assault. He was placed in the Callaway County Jail on $75,000 bond.

According to Chism, at 7:33 p.m. Thursday, county deputies responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Lee Street south of Holts Summit for a reported disturbance involving weapons. Prior to the deputies' arrival, Harrison fled the scene in a vehicle. During the investigation, deputies found Harrison had remained in a family member's residence unlawfully, displayed and threatened others with a firearm and assaulted a family member.

Later in the night, Harrison was located in Jefferson City and detained by the Jefferson City Police Department. Callaway County deputies responded to Jefferson City, took custody of Harrison and transported him to the Callaway County Jail.

Both the Jefferson City Police Department and the Holts Summit Police Department had assisted in searching for Harrison.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges could be forthcoming.
