Lady Bulldogs track team places third at Russellville Quad

RUSSELLVILLE - Sophomore Adrian Mann took first place in the 300-meter hurdles in 51.67 seconds to help spark the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs track and field team to a third-place finish at Tuesday's season-opening Russellville Quad.

On the boys' side, sophomore Austin Meyer was victorious in the 200 in :26.25 as the Bulldogs came in fifth overall.

Mann also partnered up with sophomores Ashley Potter and Kaci Jordan, and junior Haley Walters to win the 400 relay in :55.22 as the South Callaway girls accumulated 79.5 points. Jordan prevailed in the triple jump at 32 feet, 1 inch, while sophomore Elizabeth Luebbert took third in the 3,200 (14:51.92) and fourth in the 1,600 (6:35.84).

The Lady Bulldogs' 800 relay of Potter, Jordan, junior Josie Mealy and Mann came in second in 2:00.55, while the 1,600 relay of Potter, Mealy, senior Dariyn Finney and Mann finished third in 4:48.19. Freshman Destiny Musgrove placed fourth in the pole vault (6-6).

Meyer also took fourth in the 400 (:56.46) as the South Callaway boys logged 57.83 points. Sophomore Hunter Schroer came in second in the discus (108-6), while senior Brandon Ward finished second in the high jump (5-8) and fourth in the triple jump (36-5).

The Bulldogs' 1,600 relay of Ward, freshman Wyatt Hager, junior Jared Stieferman and Meyer placed third in 4:06.00. Hager took fourth in the pole vault (8-6).

South Callaway competes at the Hermann Open at 4 p.m. today.
