No. 2 Hornet wrestlers blister Moberly 56-15

Clines redeems self with win over Heimann

Senior Trenton Clines reveled in some redemption in his final home match as a Fulton Hornets wrestler.

Clines scored a 7-5 decision over Moberly's John Heimann at 152 pounds and state-ranked Fulton remained perfect in the North Central Missouri Conference as the Hornets manhandled the Spartans 56-15 on Tuesday night at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Clines - who has been dealing with a knee injury - was able to avenge a 5-4 loss to Heimann in the championship match at 152 pounds in Fulton's Jim Wallace Classic on Saturday. Clines was a state champion at 145 pounds last year.

"Trenton looked a lot better tonight and I think he felt better," Hornets head coach Eric Hudson said. "We're at that point in the season where everybody is going to be dinged up.

"You just have to manage the injury and wrestle as best as you can."

With Tuesday night's decisive win, Fulton raised its season record to 22-1 and improved to 5-0 in the NCMC. The Hornets are ranked No. 2 in Class 2 by missouriwrestling.com.
