Hornets topple Eldon for third straight win

The Fulton Hornets outscored the Eldon Mustangs 23-14 in the fourth quarter to take control for a 62-51 non-conference win at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium on Monday night.

The victory was the third in a row for Fulton (9-4), which trailed 27-22 at halftime but outscored Eldon 17-10 in the third quarter to go in front 39-37.

Senior forward Deangelo Walker produced 16 points to pace the Hornets.

"It was an ugly game - up and down all night; we had to grind one out," Fulton head coach Justin Gilmore said. "We didn't shoot the ball very well, so we had to find ways to put the ball in the hoop late in the game to pull one out."

Gavin Henderson countered with a game-high 23 points for the Mustangs.

The Hornets' scheduled game Tuesday night against Battle in Columbia was postponed because of snow. It will be made up at 6 p.m. Monday.

Fulton plays at Owensville at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
