KINGDOM CITY - Freshman guard Delanzia Hayes put up a team-high 13 points in the Missouri School for the Deaf Lady Eagles' 32-26 loss to the North Callaway Ladybirds' junior varsity on Wednesday night.
Hayes also had four rebounds and three blocked shots for MSD (0-4), which led 20-17 but was outscored by North Callaway 15-9 in the fourth quarter. Junior center Avalon Saxton logged six points and pulled down 14 rebounds.
"They put a lot of pressure on us in the second half and it got to our heads in the fourth quarter," Lady Eagles head coach Sydnee Kuster said.
Sophomore guard Madison Diehl produced 10 of her career-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to guide the Ladybirds (3-6).
MSD played at Prairie Home on Thursday night. Results were not available at press time.
North Callaway travels to South Callaway for a makeup varsity-junior varsity doubleheader at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
