Lady Eagles suffer 32-26 loss to Ladybirds' JV

KINGDOM CITY - Freshman guard Delanzia Hayes put up a team-high 13 points in the Missouri School for the Deaf Lady Eagles' 32-26 loss to the North Callaway Ladybirds' junior varsity on Wednesday night.

Hayes also had four rebounds and three blocked shots for MSD (0-4), which led 20-17 but was outscored by North Callaway 15-9 in the fourth quarter. Junior center Avalon Saxton logged six points and pulled down 14 rebounds.

"They put a lot of pressure on us in the second half and it got to our heads in the fourth quarter," Lady Eagles head coach Sydnee Kuster said.

Sophomore guard Madison Diehl produced 10 of her career-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to guide the Ladybirds (3-6).

MSD played at Prairie Home on Thursday night. Results were not available at press time.

North Callaway travels to South Callaway for a makeup varsity-junior varsity doubleheader at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
