Wildcats overpower New Haven in 65-32 blitz

NEW BLOOMFIELD - Five players finished in double figures as the New Bloomfield Wildcats smashed the New Haven Shamrocks 65-32 in non-conference play Tuesday night.

New Bloomfield (9-1) set the tone from the start, outscoring New Haven 18-3 in the first quarter. The Wildcats carried a 38-17 advantage into halftime and were in front 57-24 entering the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Grant Nichols connected for a game-high 16 points to guide New Bloomfield, followed by senior guard Derek Shikles and sophomore forward Jak Kitchens with 13 apiece. Senior guard Tyler Fennewald was next with 11 points and senior forward Leo Ramirez had 10.

The Wildcats remain at home for another non-conference matchup against Centralia at 6 p.m. Friday.
