Nichols, No. 10 Wildcats bury Russellville

NEW BLOOMFIELD - Senior guard Grant Nichols connected for a game-high 24 points as the state-ranked New Bloomfield Wildcats breezed to the 88-32 Show-Me Conference blitz of the Russellville Indians on Tuesday night.

New Bloomfield (21-3, 6-1 SMC) - ranked No. 10 in Class 2 by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association - was in charge from the outset, bolting to a 29-8 advantage after one quarter. The Wildcats pushed that lead to 56-19 at the break and were up 81-26 to start the fourth quarter.

Sophomore forward Jak Kitchens also delivered 16 points for New Bloomfield and senior guard Derek Shikles finished with 10.

The Wildcats end the regular season at home against SMC foe St. Elizabeth at 5 p.m. today.
