The Westminster College community celebrated last Friday the dedication of the William D. and Katherine C. Felder Center for Admissions and Student Financial Planning.

Thanks to the Felders' generosity, the Admissions and Financial Planning offices have undergone extensive renovations in the past two months, transforming the area into a more modern, welcoming space.

"It gives me great pleasure to officially dedicate the William D. and Katharine C. Felder Center for Admissions and Student Financial Planning," said President Benjamin Akande at the dedication ceremony. "Thank you, Bill and Katharine. You are the epitome of selflessness and the embodiment of vision."

From Dallas, Texas, Felder, a 1980 Westminster graduate, is the retired chairman of Southwest Securities Inc. and the principal broker/dealer subsidiary of SWS Group Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed holding company.

A member of the Westminster College Board of Trustees, he received an Alumni Achievement Award from Westminster in 2012.

"The center has been thoughtfully planned to appeal to new students and reflect the defining spirit of Westminster, a spirit marked by embracing the positive and saying a resounding "yes' to excellence," Akande said.
