N. Callaway set to induct inaugural Hall athletes

KINGDOM CITY - North Callaway High School is preparing to celebrate its history of athletic standouts.

North Callaway has announced its inaugural 10-person class for its Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place between the Thunderbirds' junior varsity and varsity basketball games against Eastern Missouri Conference opponent Elsberry at 6 p.m. Friday.

"We're very excited to honor these people and their great accomplishments," North Callaway athletic director Mike Emmons said Wednesday night. "We hope it inspires greatness in future athletes."

North Callaway's 10 inductees include:

•Duane Quick, football, basketball and track and field, class of 1970;

•Mike Love, basketball, class of 1975;

•Tom Christensen, football, basketball and track, class of 1982;

•Paula Primus, softball, basketball and track, class of 1985;

•Stacy Primus, softball, basketball and track, class of 1987;

•Missy Vermette, cross country, basketball and track, class of 1988;

•Jake Baumgartner, football, basketball and baseball, class of 1999;

•Darren Baldwin, football, basketball and baseball, class of 1999;

•Sarah Stringer, softball and basketball, class of 2003;

•Samantha Heck, basketball, cross country and track, class of 2009.
