MOKANE - Sophomore forward Adrian Mann broke out for a game-high 25 points, including five 3-pointers, to spur the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs past the North Callaway Ladybirds in Tuesday night's 48-38 non-conference victory.
Junior center Konnor Arrowood added 11 points for South Callaway (14-5), which bounced back from Monday night's 60-57 Show-Me Conference loss at New Bloomfield. The Lady Bulldogs raced to a 14-5 lead after one quarter Tuesday night and went into halftime with a 25-12 advantage.
Sophomore guard Kyla Bertschinger answered with 12 points to pace North Callaway (7-11). Senior guard Maddie Ausfahl followed with 11 points, including three 3-pointers, while junior forward Sam Schaefer grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
"We just couldn't put the ball in the hole," Ladybirds head coach Matt Miller said. "We had too many missed layups and 15-foot jumpers."
North Callaway (4-7) - led by sophomore guard Reyna Schmauch's 10 points - prevailed in the junior varsity game 32-18. Freshman forward Kaitlyn Schaben topped South Callaway (0-8) with six points.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Iberia for a non-conference game at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Ladybirds return home for an Eastern Missouri Conference matchup against Elsberry at 6 p.m. Thursday.
