Fulton’s Franklin medals at Moberly Invitational

MOBERLY, Mo. — Junior Isaac Franklin medalled with a fifth-place score of 78 as the Hornets finished eighth in the large-school division at the Moberly Invitational on Tuesday at Heritage Hills Golf Course.

“Isaac has been struggling a little bit with his approach shots, but he did a nice job with that and cleaned it up,” Fulton head coach Pat Kelley said Wednesday afternoon. “It was good to see him play well and it was a confidence boost – he needed that.”

Freshman Erin Brady added a 98 as the Hornets ended up with a 415 team total. Freshman Ashton Hartman provided a 100 and freshman Andrew Bauermeister shot a 139.

Franklin fired a 47 on Monday as Fulton ended up third with a 228 in a quad meet at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield. Southern Boone took first with a 164 and Linn was a distant second with a 214. New Bloomfield did not field a complete team.

Brady tallied a 52, Hartman carded a 60 and freshman Cody Perkins contributed a 69 for the Hornets.

Fulton hosts a quad with School of the Osage, California and Linn at 4:30 p.m. today at Tanglewood Golf Course.
