MEXICO - The Fulton Hornets tennis team logged its first win of the season by cruising past the Missouri Military Academy Colonels 8-1 in Tuesday night's non-conference matchup.
"From a confidence standpoint, this was a nice match to have," Fulton head coach Rob Fisher said. "It was a windy night and the kids battled through that."

•No. 1 singles: sophomore Haydon Windsor (F) defeated Brennan Morand (MMA), 10-4; No. 2: senior Gage Oestreich (F) def. Joe Mulvey (MMA), 10-6; No. 3: junior Justin Adams (F) def. Alejandro Gastelum (MMA), 10-1; No. 4: junior Grant Hendricks (F) def. Robert Shields (MMA), 10-6; No. 5: Ethan Istas (MMA) def. sophomore Isaiah Mackley (F), 10-2; No. 6: junior James Hill (F) def. Angel Alcarez (MMA), 8-1.

The Hornets (1-2) return home for a North Central Missouri Conference encounter against Boonville at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the high school athletic complex. Fulton is 0-1 in the NCMC.
