Ladybirds cruise past Community R-6 in 6-0 EMO victory

AUXVASSE - North Callaway freshman right fielder Lani Wilson had three hits and drove in two runs as the Ladybirds softball team clipped Community R-6 in a 6-0 Eastern Missouri Conference victory Tuesday night.

North Callaway (11-3, 6-1 EMO) pushed across two runs in the bottom of the first inning, made it 4-0 with another pair of runs in the third and added single tallies in both the fourth and sixth. Community fell to 7-9 on the season and 2-5 in conference play.

Wilson finished 3-for-4 as the Ladybirds accumulated 12 hits. Sophomore left fielder Kallie Jo Lehenbauer was also 3-for-4 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored.

North Callaway junior starter Taylor Wilson (6-1) scattered six hits, struck out three and walked none in the complete-game shutout.

The Ladybirds (12-0-1) triumphed in the junior varsity game 10-3.

North Callaway travels to Silex for an EMO matchup at 5 p.m. Thursday.
