Sophomore Reyna Schmauch was a medalist with her fifth-place time of 20 minutes, 28.70 seconds to pace the North Callaway Ladybirds cross country team at the 30th-annual Fulton Invitational on Saturday at the high school athletic complex.
"The thing that impressed me most about (Reyna's) performance is she went out and flat raced," North Callaway head coach Chad Craghead said. "She beat a runner that beat her at Linn (Invitational) a week earlier, which shows me she does not like losing and does not let what happen in a previous race dictate what will happen in the current."
Also placing for North Callaway were sophomore Alyssa Rinehart (60th, 23:25.04), sophomore Brooke Fischer (84th, 24:23.73), and freshman Christa Gilman (112th, 25:42.61).
Finishing for the Thunderbirds in the varsity boys' division were freshman Khobi Kellerman (139th, 21:25.05), freshman Ean Rohrbach (158th, 22:51.89), freshman Joshua McCowan (159th, 22:55.92), and freshman Joshua Craghead (165th, 23:40.13).
