Horstman, Lady Bulldogs softball team slam St. Elizabeth

ST. ELIZABETH - Junior shortstop Nicole Horstman almost hit for the cycle, driving in three runs and scoring four times in the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs softball team's 9-2 Show-Me Conference win over the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets last Thursday night.

Horstman was 3-for-4 with a single, double and triple as South Callaway (9-6, 2-1 SMC) collected nine hits. The Lady Bulldogs tallied a run in the top of the first inning, added four in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth.

Senior first baseman Kennedy Farley also finished 2-for-4 with three RBI for South Callaway.

Junior starter Konnor Arrowood gave up two runs - both unearned - on just five hits to earn the complete-game victory for the Lady Bulldogs. Arrowood struck out 10 and walked four.

South Callaway won the junior varsity contest 3-0.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Harrisburg at 5 p.m. today.
