Arrowood's one-hitter, 14 strikeouts fuel Lady Bulldogs' win

MOKANE - South Callaway junior starter Konnor Arrowood threw a one-hit shutout and piled up 14 strikeouts in the Lady Bulldogs softball team's 7-0 non-conference win over Fayette on Tuesday night.

Arrowood walked none in going the distance for the victory.

South Callaway (8-6) put up a run in the bottom of the first inning, pushed across four more in the second and tallied two in the third.

Junior shortstop Nicole Horstman went 3-for-4 with a run batted in and two runs scored as the Lady Bulldogs collected eight hits. Junior center fielder Haley Walters was also 2-for-3 with an RBI.

South Callaway won the junior varsity game 5-2.

The Lady Bulldogs return to Show-Me Conference play when they travel to St. Elizabeth at 5 p.m. Thursday.
