William Woods men's cross country team takes fifth at Forest Park Festival

ST. LOUIS - Freshman Alex Thompson finished fifth individually in 16 minutes, 45 seconds as the William Woods University Owls cross country team also took fifth overall at the Forest Park Festival on Friday.

William Woods University did not compete as a team in the women's division, but sophomore Grace Young sparked the Lady Owls by coming in sixth in 19:33.

Other finishers for the Owls included sophomore Kyle Gabrielson (16th, 17:29), freshman Michael Hamilton (39th, 18:41), freshman Jamie Porter (40th, 18:41), freshman Xavier Hall (46th, 19:05), and junior Zach Glassmaker (47th, 19:05).

Also placing for the Lady Owls were senior Samantha Brolaski (ninth, 20:20), sophomore Hannah Rutherford (20th, 20:59), and sophomore Jami Brandow (29th, 21:20).

Both William Woods squads run in the Maryville University Six Flags Open in Eureka on Saturday.
