Westminster volleyball team splits opening SLIAC matches

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team downed Iowa Wesleyan University 25-12, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-14, but was swept by host Greenville College 25-15, 25-20 and 27-25 in Saturday's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener.

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Marshall directed Westminster College (4-3) with 19 kills in the triumph over Iowa Wesleyan, while junior setter Kayla Reeg logged 41 assists. Freshman defensive specialist Bridget Ringwald registered a team-high 21 digs and freshman outside hitter Nikki Testerman contributed 19.

Marshall provided a team-high nine kills in the Greenville loss and Reeg chipped in with 24 assists. Ringwald also had 14 digs.

The Lady Blue Jays continue SLIAC play with a home match against Principia (Ill.) College at 7 tonight.
