North Callaway's Schmauch medals at Linn Invitational

LINN - Sophomore Reyna Schmauch medalled with an eighth-place time of 21 minutes, 47.22 seconds to pace the North Callaway Ladybirds cross country team at Saturday's Linn Invitational.

"This was a standout meet for her," North Callaway head coach Chad Craghead said. "... She ran an amazing race and did not let this field of talented runners intimidate her.

"This was Reyna's first taste of some of the best talent she will face this year and I was pleased with how she held her ground and did not let her rookie status show."

Other finishers for North Callaway included sophomore Alyssa Rinehart (65th, 25:40.70), sophomore Brooke Fischer (66th, 25:45.80), and freshman Christa Gilman (80th, 26:48.76).

Meanwhile, North Callaway finished fourth as a team in the junior varsity boys' race.

Placing for the Thunderbirds were five freshmen - Khobi Kellerman (40th, 22:51.18), Ean Rohrbach (47th, 23:16.79), Ivan Roesner (48th, personal-best 23:16.86), Josh McCowan (53rd, 23:23.30), and Josh Craghead (64th, personal-best 24:08.01).
