PARKVILLE - The William Woods University Lady Owls soccer team managed only five shots, including three on goal, as it was blanked by the Park University Lady Pirates 2-0 in Saturday's American Midwest Conference opener.
The loss dropped William Woods University to 1-3-1 on the season. Park (3-2) received goals from Gabi Severns in the 4th minute and Emily Key in the 14th.
The Lady Pirates finished with 13 shots, including 10 on goal. Neither team had a corner kick.
William Woods senior goalkeeper Ashley Parisi responded with eight saves.
The Lady Owls travel to rival Columbia College for an AMC clash at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
